The History of Medd Racing and new beginnings
QUALITY RIDERS
Formerly Medd Racing, the team has shown great success in the World of Motorcycle Racing, helping riders to progress in their careers, such as World Superbike Champions Carl Fogarty and Neil Hodgson, TT Legends David Jefferies and Robert Dunlop and many other British Champions in the sport.
OUR START
Stuart Medd founded Medd Racing in 1987 following brief sponsorship of a sidecar team for some tyres at the Isle of Man TT. Stuart has always had a great passion for motorcycle racing and as a youngster followed the greats of Agostini and Sheene and decided to setup up a race team to provide great opportunities for riders in a quality Privateer team. The team quickly progressed from National to British Championships and finally found its feet in the World 250cc and 500cc Championships as one of the top British Privateer teams. After the world scene Medd Racing turned its attention to British Superbikes sponsoring many riders who went on to become British and World Champions, proving the team to be a great stepping stone to success.
NEW BEGINNINGS
Son of Stuart and ex British Superbike Racer, Nick Medd has decided to re-introduce Medd Racing with a development programme re-branded Medd Motorsport for 2020. Our philosophy is to promote the future youth stars of today and again provide a stepping stone to success. The opportunities available to young British riders are growing within the UK and now the country has championships available from a very young age, leaning towards the likes of Spanish and Italian youth championships, its clear with the right team structure like Medd Motorsport the next British World Champion is just around the corner.
